For all the adults
being interested in young peoples fate
Young people
in and out of care proved at the Youth Conference, that they are able to
work on serious subjects. They know exactly, which treatment hurts and what
is wrong about the welfare system, as welfare was an important part of their
own life. Males and females from different European nations worked together
to give the adults handling with welfare an insight into effects of care,
into feelings of people in care and into basically needs of young people. They
worked together to sum up important needs and to think over solutions, which
are already/could be useful to increase well doing of young people in care.Young
people in care will fight for a better future and everybody is invited to
fight with us. We call up on you to carry our messages, our demands our
needs to your governments, to your youth welfare departments, to your offices.
Give us a voice!
Encourage
the young people in care to speak about their needs and give them the
possibility to express their opinion, listen to them carefully and try
to change bad circumstances.Treat
the young people as experts; their knowledge is bigger, than you sometimes
may think. Don't decide for them - but ask them about their own decisions.
Invite young experts when you're going to discuss matters of Youth Welfare,
of Care System, of Quality Standards.
Together we'll
have a chance!
Help to
build up networks for children and young people in care. Support meetings
and exchange of experiences, ideological and financial.
Strengthen the existing networks and inform young people in care about
it.
Fight for children's rights!
All children
are equal, no matter who are their father and mother, no matter what is
their fate. Treat every child, as it was your own! Carry the information
about children's rights, children's needs and children's demands to everybody.
For all the young people being interested in a better future
Don't stay alone
- stay in contact
Your fate may be cruel, your story unique, you may feel alone- but don't
give up, there are people around feeling similar pain. Closer as you may
believe, they are awaiting your first step to share your experiences with
them. Together we can displace mountains, we can help each other, and
we can take care for each other.
Don't be quiet-
be loud
In fact
most of the people avoid hearing about other peoples problems. They are
not willing to listen and to watch. We have to be loud, to have a strong
voice. We have to tell the others about our needs and we have to say clearly,
what we want, if we recognise that something is going wrong in our own
lives, in society.
Don't stay at home-
go out
Problems
are the same wherever you go. Don't stay at home, but exchange ( EFCW-advice
for following youth conferences!) your experiences wherever you have the
chance to do it.
Don't give up-
stand up and fight
Without
doubt, fighting for your rights is not easy. There are many barriers,
lack of information, deaf and blind authorities, lack of financial and
ideological support. But we have to be strong and together we are strong.
And step by step we will reach our goals. We have to trust in our aims
and in our strength - and some day our visions will become reality!
